Kajabi — Course Creator Platform Overview

What It Is

Kajabi is a commercial all-in-one business platform for knowledge entrepreneurs. It goes further than course creation platforms like Thinkific and Teachable by bundling email marketing, sales funnels, podcast hosting, and community tools alongside course delivery. Its positioning is explicitly as a business platform, not just an LMS or course builder.

Kajabi is one of three major course creator platforms in this space — see also Thinkific (10) and Teachable (22). Among the three, Kajabi is the most expensive and most feature-complete for creators who want to replace multiple SaaS tools (Mailchimp + a course platform + Circle + a podcast host) with a single platform. Note: Kajabi eliminated its entry-level Kickstarter plan as of January 2026 and raised prices on remaining tiers.

Kajabi's distinguishing characteristic is scope: it aims to be the single platform a knowledge creator needs to run their entire online business. This is a fundamentally different product philosophy than Open edX (or even Thinkific/Teachable). For an institution or organization, this breadth is irrelevant — they already have email systems, websites, and CRMs. For an individual entrepreneur, Kajabi's consolidated billing and integrated data can justify its premium price over assembling separate tools.
