LearnWorlds — Course Creator Platform Overview

What It Is

LearnWorlds is a commercial SaaS course creation and delivery platform that spans the creator-to-enterprise spectrum. It is marketed as an AI-powered LMS built primarily for course creators, online schools, and training organizations. Compared to the other course creator platforms in this directory (Thinkific, Teachable, Kajabi), LearnWorlds sits at the more educationally capable end — with native SCORM/LTI support, interactive video, and a B2B seat management layer that gives it institutional crossover appeal.

LearnWorlds is one of four major course creator platforms in this space — see also Thinkific (10), Teachable (22), and Kajabi (23). Among the four, LearnWorlds is the most feature-complete for formal learning contexts: richer assessments, graded SCORM, LTI 1.3, and white-label mobile apps are available at lower price points than competitors offer.

Maintainer

LearnWorlds — Founded 2014 by Panos Siozos (CEO), Fanis Despotakis (CTO), and Giorgos Palaigeorgiou — three computer science academics from Greece. Headquartered in Limassol, Cyprus. Raised $32M Series A from Insight Partners (July 2021). Privately held.

Target Market

  • Individual course creators and entrepreneurs: The core positioning and primary UX target
  • SMBs and training departments: B2B seat management and bulk enrollment tools
  • Corporate training teams: SCORM/LTI integrations, compliance-capable structure
  • Educational institutions: More than Thinkific/Teachable/Kajabi, but not a true enterprise LMS

  • White-label solution: Custom domain, branding, and colors; custom iOS/Android app builder
  • B2B Seat Management: Bulk enrollment, multi-user packages, bulk sales — core to the enterprise tier

SCORM/LTIComprehensiveBetter than any other creator platform

LearnWorlds is the closest of the course creator platforms to having institutional-grade features (graded SCORM, LTI 1.3, gradebook). However, it is fundamentally a no-code SaaS creator platform — it cannot be self-hosted, does not support multi-tenancy at Open edX's scale, and lacks the XBlock extensibility or event data infrastructure for research-grade learning analytics. For organizations choosing between LearnWorlds and Open edX, the decision typically comes down to: self-hosting capability, custom content types, and scale vs. simplicity and built-in e-commerce.
